Jamaican Steamed Cabbage

Ingredients

  • 1/2 Cabbage Sliced ( 4 cups)

  • 2 Carrots Peeled and Diced

  • 1 Roma Tomato Chopped

  • 1 Yellow Onion Chopped

  • 4 Cloves Garlic chopped

  • 4 Green Onions Chopped

  • 4 Stalks Thyme

  • 1/2 Scotch Bonnet Pepper ( Seeds and Ste, Removed)

  • 2 Tbsp Water

  • 2 Tbsp Olive Oil

  • 4 Tbsp unsalted Butter

  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt

  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper

Directions

  • Add all ingredients to large pan medium heat covered
  • Cook on medium heat for 10 minutes
  • After 10 minutes reduce heat to low cook for an additional 5 minutes until cabbage is soft and tender
  • Remove stalks of thyme and serve
